Details: The Organic Wine Trail showcases the certified organic vineyards and practices of the Santa Cruz Mountains and extends from Cupertino (Ridge Vineyards) and Saratoga (Cooper-Garrod Estate Vineyards), through Boulder Creek (Big Basin Vineyards) and Summit Road between Los Gatos and Soquel (Silver Mountain Vineyards) to Corralitos (Storrs Winery & Vineyards). The route can be split to make a nice day or weekend excursion, with excellent restaurants, picnicking, and fabulous mountain and coastal views along the way. It is a wonderful opportunity to explore the wineries of the Santa Cruz Mountains, from Cupertino to Corralitos, while learning about the extra steps vineyards and wineries take to adhere to organic standards. All five wineries are open for California Wine Month with tastings on the weekends, and are open throughout the year as well. Some will offer tours. See organicwinetrail.org for information on each winery.
