Garden Favorites: Tomato Recipes for the Height of the Season

Jack and Dolores Cakebread have long believed that a glass of wine was meant to be paired with great food and great company. A chef and master gardener, Dolores planted the first culinary gardens here, and the gardens remain central to the culinary program at Cakebread Cellars today. The bounty of the garden informs what Chefs serve at the table from season to season, and in summertime, that means tomatoes. Like taking a fresh bite out of summer, heirloom and cherry tomatoes from our Culinary Garden fold into a variety of summertime recipes perfect for entertaining family and friends. Cakebread Cellars wines are the perfect accompaniment after class, when you’ll enjoy a 30-minute appetizer reception and three-course luncheon featuring your own culinary handiwork.

Forty years ago, Justin Baldwin founded JUSTIN Vineyards & Winery with the vision to create Bordeaux-inspired wine blends in Paso Robles, California. Since that time, we have made wines inspired not only by Bordeaux, but also by several other regions from across Europe. On Saturday, May 7th, join JUSTIN Sommelier and Wine Educator Jim Gerakaris for a virtual seminar and tasting of three unique JUSTIN wines: 2019 JUSTIFICATION, 2019 TRILATERAL, and 2019 Reserve Tempranillo, all of which were inspired by three classic wine regions in the Old World. During the tasting, Gerakaris will give a fun and educational presentation about the history of these three regions and discuss why we decided to make these unique styles of wine in Paso Robles.
